The Old School
Repeat prescriptions:
Please order your repeat prescriptions online if possible. You can leave paper requests in the red, wall-mounted post boxes inside the front door, at reception, at Bishopthorpe pharmacy, or post it to the surgery. Tick the items you need on the right-hand section of your previous prescription form. Your prescription will be ready for collection 5 working days later. If you prefer, we can post it back to you (you will need to provide a stamped, addressed envelope).
We are keen to ensure that patients with ongoing medical problems are monitored regularly. If the date for your next review with a doctor or nurse has passed you will be asked to make an appointment.
This is a part-Dispensing Practice and medicines are available for collection after 2 working days
Test Results:
Please telephone for test results after 2.00pm to avoid busy periods. You can also check results online or using the NHS App. If your clinician advised you to make a follow up appointment even if the results are normal please do so.
To ensure confidentiality, we only release results to the patient, unless alternative arrangements have been agreed in writing.
If you are unclear about your results you can telephone to discuss them with your GP.
Fitness to work certificates:
You only need a doctor’s note if you are unable to work and are ill for longer than seven calendar days. Your employer will provide you with an SC2 self-certificate form for shorter periods of illness. We can provide form SC1 for unemployed or self-employed patients.
Non-NHS services:
The NHS does not pay for some of the services we provide. These include private sick notes, insurance forms, holiday cancellation forms, medical reports, fitness to travel certificates, private prescriptions and some vaccination services. Our fees for these services are displayed in the surgery.
